The Directorate Office Wide Products and Services is part of the Principal Directorate Office-wide and External Automation within the Information Management Department of the European Patent Office. For our Data Warehouse environment which is SAS based we are seeking a Software Developer located in Munich
Poste
Data Warehouse (DWH) Developer within our DWH Technical Competence Centre, in detail:
1. design and implement changes / expansions of the DWH
2. integrate new data sources
3. populate warehouse and data marts
4. implement metadata
5. conduct technical in-house DWH projects
6. support system tests and provide test data
7. perform technical impact analysis including effort estimates
8. translate functional requirements and designs into technical application and program designs
9. maintain technical documentation
Profil
• long experience in the design, support and development of SAS (Version 9) based DWH implementations and - applications
• experience in SAS based BI tools such as SAS DI Studio, SAS Portal 2 and SAS Enterprise Guide,
• long experience in z/OS, AIX, MS Office
• experience in data base techniques (DB2)
• experience in OPC, JCL, change management (especially on z/OS)
• proven knowledge of Data Warehouse techniques (especially the "Kimball" approach)
• good knowledge of performance management techniques (Balanced Score Cards)
• good analytical skills
• good knowledge of software analysis, design, structured development and testing
• good communication skills, both orally and in writing, with end users and experts, at least in German and English
• a team based approach and the ability to work on his/her own responsibility
• ability to work in a multicultural environment
Minimum qualifications:
Completed secondary education is normally required, together with a diploma of post- secondary professional training, or equivalent professional experience acquired over many years of work. Eight years' relevant experience. Working knowledge of the EPO's official languages.
The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of qualifications, supplemented as appropriate by interviews and/or tests.
