Directorate Buildings, Technical Installations and Property has a vacancy for the Head of Technical Services in EPO's Isar building. This official reports direct to the Director Buildings, Technical Installations and Property, the latter to the Principal Director General Administration.
Poste
The appointee will be responsible for the technical facilities in the Isar building. The main task is to ensure that they are operated and maintained skilfully and professionally, so that staff in the building have optimal workplace conditions.
Main duties
- Organising, leading and supervising technical facility management in the Isar building (91 000 m² gross floor area)
- Organising and optimising all inspection, maintenance, repair and operating work (BCS (building control systems), MSC (measurement, steering, control), communications) by EPO staff or outside firms
- Recording, documenting and optimising maintenance and running costs
- Helping to produce the budget
- Drafting contracts to procure equipment, materials and services
- Supporting central project management on alterations and new construction work in the Isar building
- Helping to harmonise maintenance strategies at all the EPO's Munich premises.
Profil
- University degree in civil or utilities engineering or a similar discipline
- Sound knowledge and practical experience of utilities engineering, and especially of electrical, heating, gas, water, air-conditioning and fire-prevention installations
- Many years' experience in planning and conducting buildings maintenance, alterations and new construction work
- Many years' management experience, ideally supplemented by experience in the outsourcing of services
- Ability to work analytically and conceptually
- Experience in preparing decisions and presentations of conclusions to committees
- Good teamwork and negotiating skills, and the ability to get things done
- Intercultural understanding, international experience (especially in working with staff from different countries) and experience with project work abroad would be desirable.
Minimum qualifications
Diploma of completed studies at university level or – in exceptional cases – equivalent professional experience. Excellent knowledge of one official language, and ability to understand the other two.
