Our client is a pre-eminent emerging markets financial services group with a significant global presence across the major financial hubs and in many other countries. The firm has undertaken some significant investments over the last few years and its current strategy is to continue to diversify its business and build up some of the strongest business lines as well as focusing on the CIS network and the share of high margin retail and investment businesses. As part of this overall strategy, an important task is to support the growing businesses by building a stronger, more effective and more efficient infrastructure which includes enhancing the finance capability to ensure strength in financial governance and systems.
Poste
The firm wishes to recruit a number of senior finance professionals across a number of geographical regions to report both locally to the Managing Director and to ensure the integrity of the results being reported back to Head Office.
Responsibilities will include, but not exhaustively:
o Leading and managing the key finance teams and financial processes locally including, where relevant, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, management reporting and product control
o Ensure that all internal, external and head office reporting deadlines are met
o Liaising with and assisting external auditors during their regular periodic reviews
o Management and appraisal of all finance teams including objective and target setting, annual review and personal development
o Active involvement in the financial implication of new business activity
o Continual involvement in the finance element of new projects both locally and for the group.
Profil
o To succeed in these roles you must be a graduate qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience in finance and accounting in financial services.
o You should be able to demonstrate strong ability in financial management and control, financial forecasts and budgeting; you should also have sound knowledge of a banking chart of accounts and of capital ratios and calculations.
o You must also be fully conversant in IFRS and have a good understanding of current and future regulatory issues affecting
the industry.
o Experience of working internationally would be highly advantageous as would linguistic ability.
o You will have proven management ability and a commercial approach, focused on delivering to deadlines. Management of other functions as well as finance would also be a considerable advantage.
o You should also possess excellent presentation and communication skills at all levels, coupled with a hands-on approach.
