The European Patent Office is currently recruiting a
Lawyer (reference no. EUR/4823)
for its Department Legal Issues, General Advisory Committee and Senior Management Care in Principal Directorate Human Resources in Munich (Germany)
Poste
• Advising senior management and staff members in the Principal Directorate Human Resources on legal questions
• Reviewing complaint letters and, where possible, making proposals for pre-litigation settlement
• Advising senior management on recommendations by the Internal Appeals Committee
• Providing legal support to HR related projects in the Directorate
• Drafting of HR related documents for the Administrative Council, circulars, instructions and decisions
• Liaising with senior management, colleagues in the Principle Directorate Human Resources, members of the Directorate Employment Law and Staff Representatives
• Occasional representation of the Office in procedures before the Disciplinary Committee
Profil
The ideal candidate will have:
• Legal training and demonstrated interest in employment law
• Professional experience in an international environment would be an advantage
• Ability to think analytically and present arguments in a logical, concise and legally well-argued manner
• Excellent drafting skills
• Advanced oral and written communication skills
• Well organised, systematic and results-oriented approach with the ability to complete tasks under tight deadlines
• Ability to work well in a team and independently
Minimum qualifications:
University degree in law or - in exceptional cases - equivalent professional experience. Excellent knowledge of one official language, and ability to understand the other two.
The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of qualifications, supplemented as appropriate by interviews, tests and/or a psychometric questionnaire.
It is intended to hold the interviews on 18 December 2009 in Munich.
