Department Description
Philips Consumer Lifestyle consists of several key domains, one of which is Personal Care. By far the largest category within Personal Care is Male Grooming. The Innovation Department for Male Grooming is located in Drachten, with one team focusing on Grooming products and the other team on Shaving products.
The Innovation Team Shaving is responsible for all global innovation for Shaving. It is headed by an Innovation Lead, and its management team holds key positions in Project Management, Functional Departments, Predevelopment and Architecture. In total close to 200 people are working on innovation for shavers on a daily basis, with a strong connection to business disciplines in Amsterdam and Shanghai.

Candidate Responsibilities
The Senior Architect is part of the management team of the innovation team Shaving, and furthermore steers the predevelopment program. He or she has a key role in definition of the strategic direction of the innovation program, linking business goals with requirements to product function, manufacturing processes and investments in manufacturing.
• You translate consumer insights and business propositions into technical system specifications, in close cooperation with the marketing function. You breakdown shaving technology into smaller building blocks and define and select technology options for those together with the technical experts.
• You strive for maximum re-use and modularity and much more than creating one-of-a-kind products.
• Furthermore, you define and deploy together with our business stakeholders, roadmaps and product platforms and drive long term (up till 5 years) innovations within our application area.
• You help to continuously improve our processes that cover both architectural thinking and pre development.
• You chair the architecture team, with senior participants out of all relevant Innovation and Development and Supply functions.
Profil
Candidate Profile
• You have a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
• You have multi years of experience in architecture roles or systems engineering, preferably in an environment with high precision, mass produced consumer products and related production systems. Domains covered are mechanics, electronics, software and manufacturing processes.
• In your prior work, you have built up a track record on influencing business decisions, based on your technological insights, your external view and your strong personality.
• Broad technical knowledge with deep insight in the integration of product, production processes and equipment.
• Experienced in coaching teams of designers and architects
• Capable to drive business decision based on sound financial analysis.
