Sybase Transact SQL Developer, Banking.
Edelway SA is looking for a highly motivated English speaking Sybase Transact SQL developer to join its expanding international team on a long term basis here in Geneva. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates keen to live/work/play in Switzerland as this will be a long term relationship.
THE ROLE:
You will be designing and coding in Transact-SQL in Sybase and will be heavily involved in a global system for major private banks.
The role will include reverse engineering, optimizing and improving existing processes running on Sybase data Servers.
You will be in charge of programming the application as well as supervising work delegated to our Client's off-shore development center.
You will work under the supervision of a project manager in charge of defining the objectives and deadlines of the project.
YOU NEED:
Mandatory:
Sybase Transact-SQL expertise: proven experience in design and optimization of stored procedures on large database Servers. (Min. 3 years of experience).
Ability to write functional and technical specifications documents. Ability to integrate within an existing team and adapt to the organization in place.
Fluency in English. This is the working language with our clients. French is a plus.
A keen interest to work in Geneva.
Advantage:
Banking industry experience will be a strong plus.
Scripting Languages: Experience in building automation tools in Perl or Python will be appreciated.
Object Oriented Language: Some experience with Java would be a plus.
Visual Basic (VB6), Visual C#, JSP, WebSphere Portal.
